Sculpture Re-creation
CUSD student models William and Sophia recreate the sculpture with Doc. The two students were used by artist Sam Peña to create the sculpture.

Project Coordinators
Roger and Marilyn McGrady, two of the driving forces behind the sculpture project, take a moment with Doc in front of the sculpture, which was created to honor the impact Dr. Buchanan has had on the community. The entire project, from conceptualization to completion, took five and a half years.

The community celebrated former Clovis Unified School District Superintendent Floyd B. "Doc" Buchanan at May 24’s dedication of a life-sized bronze sculpture depicting Doc walking hand-in-hand with two third-graders. The sculpture is installed on the Buchanan High campus.
