Several people were evacuated after a huge fire erupted at the Future Ford of Clovis car dealership late Friday afternoon.
The business is located along Shaw near Highway 168.
Firefighters from Clovis and Fresno were called in to help battle the fire shortly before 4:30 p.m.
Several downed power lines made it difficult for crews to access the fire.
Witnesses said they heard several explosions and saw flames shooting up 40 to 50 feet in the air.
Firefighters were worried about a few 500-gallon fuel tanks in the car lot, but fortunately they were able to shut them off.
The massive fire was brought under control at approximately 5:30 p.m.
Fire crews planned to work well into the night to check for any hot spots.
The good news is that all employees have been accounted for and no one was hurt.
Portions of Shaw and Willow avenues were closed for several hours. The Highway 168 off ramps at Shaw were closed bringing traffic to a standstill.
