Help students make strides toward higher education!

Proteus is sponsoring the Inaugural William M. Maguy 5k Run/2k Walk.

The event planned for April 6th at 7 a.m. at Cutler Park.

Proteus, Inc. is a non-profit community-based organization with 45 years of experience serving economically disadvantaged residents in the Central Valley. We offer a range of programs which include adult basic and vocational education, employment-related services, child abuse prevention, family self-sufficiency, gang prevention, childcare and other services aimed at assisting individuals and families.

Proteus awards several scholarships to deserving students through a competitive application process. Scholarships range from $500 to $1,200 to deserving youth and adults.

Saturday March 2nd you can get a workout for free and help the Valley Animal Center.

At 9:00 A.M. head out to Keith Tice Memorial Park on the Northwest Corner of Millbrook and Teague for fun exercises, nutrition product samples, and raffle prizes. There will be seperate workout areas for beginner, intermedaite, and advanced exercisers. Everyone will get a good workout and have fun.

The Valley Animal Center hopes you are able to bring a dontation of some kind to the workout to help them help homeless pets in the Valley. For more information check out their facebook page here.
