Wild Water Adventure Park Job Fair Attracts Hundreds Of Teens

Hundreds of Valley teens are looking forward to spending the sunny days of summer working outdoors.

Wild Water Adventure Park in Clovis held their job fair Saturday, and as many teens are finding out, the competition is fierce.

The numbers show it's harder for teens to get hired than for your average laid off worker.

Fresno County's unemployment rate is at 17%.

The teen unemployment rate in California is 35%.

"It's been really hard, I've been looking for a job since junior year," said Caitlyn Hale, who interviewed at the job fair at Sierra Vista Mall.

She says it took her several months to get a job at the mall, now she has her sights set on being a lifeguard for the summer.

She thinks her interview went well.

New Thrift Store Open

New Thrift Store Open

Hinds Hospice is thrilled to announce the opening of its new thrift store at 270 Shaw Avenue in Clovis. The Hinds Hospice Thrift Store in Fresno on Cedar and Shields closed December 31 and relocated to the new location in Clovis.

The new store is the largest of the five stores operated by Hinds Hospice, allowing for more merchandise and donations. The larger space also aids in the agency’s recycling program of donated items that cannot be sold in the stores.

The Hinds Hospice Thrift Stores were created as a way of giving back to the communities we serve by providing discounted clothing, furniture and household goods, while supporting the mission of Hinds Hospice. Proceeds from the thrift stores help to defray the costs of hospice and bereavement care to families that is not reimbursed by Medicare or insurance, as well as support programs such as the Center for Grief & Healing and Angel Babies.
