Today is a No Burn Day in Fresno County | News
Today is a “no burn” day in Fresno County because of poor air quality.
The ban applies to fireplaces, outdoor fire pits and chimineas.
The “no burn” days help keep pollution down in the winter. According to the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District, wood burning pumps dangerous particles into Valley skies. It has been shown to cause lung infections and exacerbate respiratory and cardiac illness.
If you burn on a “no burn” day, you could be fined. There are two exceptions. You can burn if your home does not have access to natural gas or if burning is the only way you can heat your home.
