Have a Safe Fourth of July!

Have a Safe Fourth of July!

Did you know that children younger than 15 account for 4 out of 10 firework-related injuries?

That's according to experts at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

This is why people need to make sure children are safe around these explosives items.

Here are some tips from Nationwide Children’s Hospital:

  • Sparklers are a leading cause of firework-related injury.Even though some parents consider sparklers to be “safe fireworks,” they can reach temperatures of 1800 degrees and easily ignite clothing.
  • Supervision alone is not enough to prevent serious injuries.Firework-related injuries often happen when a parent or an adult is present.
  • Even if you do not allow your children to touch fireworks, they can still be seriously injured if they are around others who are using fireworks.1 in 4 firework-related injuries to children occurs to bystanders.

Clovis Farmers Market Tonight!

Clovis Farmers Market Tonight!

The Business Organization of Old Town (B.O.O.T.) announces another great night at the 2013 Old Town Clovis Farmers Market.

Lots of local fresh fruits and vegetables are helping you start the summer right! Cooler weather fruits such as cherries and berries will be in abundance. As well as many of our favorite growers.  Blossom Bluff Orchards and Ferrer Farms are welcomed to the Market as Certified Organic and chemical free growers. When we asked Ferrer Farms Owner, Maria Ferrer why they decided to go organic she said “because my family eats this food” and that says it all!

There are some changes throughout the Market to keep things fresh and hopping! The aim is to bring the best Certified Farmers Market in the Valley along with new, fun things to do at the Market and this year is no exception!
